C0 Fluorine-Free Water Repellent
No fluorochemistry of any kind — a water repellent finish for mills working toward PFC-free targets.
What it is
Water repellency without fluorine
CK GUARD N-SERIES is a fluorine-free (C0) water repellent. There is no fluorochemistry in the formulation at all — not a shortened chain, not a reduced content. Because nothing in it is fluorinated, there is no PFAS in it either. For a brand that has committed to removing PFCs from its supply chain, that is the distinction that matters.
It is a water repellent. It does not repel oil or greasy soil, and we do not position it where a specification asks for those.

Being precise about it
What a fluorine-free finish can and cannot do
Oil repellency is a function of fluorochemistry. We would rather say so plainly than have a finish fail your buyer’s test.

The N-SERIES is not the only fluorine-free route we make. Wax and silicone water repellents sit with our finishing agents rather than under the CK GUARD name.
